We aren’t machines! All of us have days (or weeks!) when completing a writing task seems to be taking twice as long to get half as far. And yet we have to deliver.
When you feel that your report or plan (or other lengthy, detailed document) is just not coming together, it’s always better to pause to refresh and reset, rather than waste your time writing something that’s not going to be very good.
Here are a few approaches I recommend. They’re focused on professional, business communications – not creative writing, although some of the techniques may be useful for that as well!
